Note 1: Ernst Anspach was a German economist and lawyer celebrated for his African art collection which he and his wife, Ruth, built over 30 years. In 1967 highlights from their collection were exhibited at the Museum of Primitive Art in New York. Carol and Jerome Kenney acquired a significant portion of their collection in 1989.
