The artist; Harry Kondoleon (1955–1994), Bali, later New York, by 1978 [see note 1]; bequeathed to his sister Christine Kondoleon, Boston, 1994; given to the Yale University Art Gallery, New Haven, 2021.

Note 1: Harry Kondoleon completed a homestay studying wayang painting with Ketut Madra near Ubud in Bali as part of a Watson Fellowship between 1977–1978; he brought the piece back with him to the United States in 1978.
