Judith Simon (died 2009), Cleveland, Ohio, 1960s-1970s; by descent within the family; sale, Arte Primitivo, New York, December 14, 2020, lot 87; sold to Peter David Joralemon, New York, December 14, 2020 (on loan to the Yale University Art Gallery, New Haven, Conn., from 2021)

- JUDITH HARRIS SIMON, beloved wife of Allan C. Simon; she had loving stepchildren and a grandchild; dear sister of Elaine Harris Green of Cleveland, passed away March 11, 2009. Judy was born in Cleveland, graduated from Cleveland Heights High School and Mather College of Case Western Reserve University in the field of nutrition. After graduation she moved to New York City and interned at New York Hospital in the dietetic program. She then worked for corporations such as Parents' Magazine, Borden Company, Pfizer Pharmaceutical Co. and most recently a successful career as a freelance medical writer. Judith was a lover of all the arts. She was a ballet enthusiast who remembered fondly studying (as an amateur) with Melissa Hayden. She also enjoyed opera, theatre, museums, films and many great books which she shared with her husband, an artist. Judith's caring nature was demonstrated by her time spent helping to counsel individuals who suffered from the same type of cancer she had. A memorial service was held in Stamford, Connecticut March 15. Cantor Kerry Ben-David officiated. Published in The Plain Dealer on Mar. 22, 2009.
