It seems probable that this is Yueh ware of Chekiang, imported into Ch'ang-sha. Newton, however, attributes a fairly imilar piece to the Yo kilns near Ch'ang-sha; see Isaac Newton, "Some Coloured and White Wares from Hunan," TOCS, 27 (1951-53), pl. 6, no. 14.
