Inscriptions

The certificate is addressed to Helen Seymour at the end of the scroll followed by a signature "Respectfully [by] Gyokuen?" (indicating the inscriber). Only the dedicatory section (i.e. from the section to whom this certificate was addressed to through the signarure of the inscriber) is handwritten. The other area is printed.

At the end of the scroll bears a printed signature: "Hosokawaryuu Iemoto shihan O-oi Teiseki" followed by two seals "Shouseisai" and "Teiseki".
