Lid reverse inscribed "Karadô mitsu ningyô futaoki \ The object to the right is certified to be made by (Nagoshi) Jômi of the Hôreki era 1751-1764 \ On-kamashi (kettlemaker) \ Ônishi Sei'emon (Jôchô, 12th generation Kyoto Ônish, d. 1943) \ cyclical dates \ early autumn day (black seal)."
