Recent Acquisitions of Prints and Drawings

A gallery installation with gray walls, on which hang framed prints and drawings. At the center is a narrow, rectangular glass-covered display case with two, long unfolded lithographs on paper.

The prints, drawings, and illustrated books on display on the museum’s fourth floor represent only a handful of the extraordinary objects added to the collection over the past five years—from just before to just after the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the enthusiasm and tenacity of our donors and curators, we were able to continue building our vibrant holdings of works on paper despite the challenges of this period.

Demonstrating our inclusive approach to collecting across histories and cultures, the nearly 40 works span in date from the 16th century to the present day. They encompass a range of nationalities, media, and subject matters and are on view in the James E. Duffy Gallery through early June 2024.
