In recent years, Marshall has continued working from a backlog of commissions from functional objects to sculptures. Friends Executive Committee Member Lisa Koenigsberg was instrumental in persuading Marshall to undertake a commission for the Art Gallery after they became acquainted when he participated in a symposium on silversmithing that she organized for NYU in March 2000.
