In a letter of 24 September 1929, dealer Henry Hammond Taylor informed Francis P. Garvan that this "cherry lowboy with the C scrolls on legs and original brasses.came from the Johnson family on Main St. Newtown, CT, and has always been in this family" Francis P. Garvan, New York Gift in 1930 to Yale University Art Gallery, New Haven, Conn.
