The Thinking Stone, 32 tons of granite sculpted by Willem Boshoff. One of a number of artworks commissioned by the university after some Afrikaner male students were alleged to have urinated into the food of some Black workers. This "sculpture on the campus" project was undertaken in the hope that it would "promote greater respect for cultural differences and would instill a sense of belonging in staff and students."
