Note 1: The cup celebrated the “Class Boy,” or the first son born to a member of a given class. The “Class Boy” for the Class of 1888 was Allen Trafford Klots, son of Maud Klots (née Maud A. Allen, 1862–1951) and Charles Allen Klots (1869–1926, B.A. 1888). The cup was presented to Charles and the infant Allen at a reunion dinner held on 23 June 1891 (“Class Reunions,” Yale Daily News, June 26, 1891, and “Yale ’88 Class Boy to Attend Stimson Party,” Washington Post, 13 January, 1931).
