Obverse Description

Obverse Description: Outer margin: "100" written repeatedly in l., r., and bottom. Inner margin has pattern of rectangles. Two pilasters hold up architrave with egg and dart pattern. "ETHNIKE TRAPEZA TES ELLADOS" printed inside frame and "TRAPEZA TES ELLADOS" stamped in red ink over architrave. Middle medallion consists of "100" inside a symmetric shape. Below medallion reads "DRACHMAI EKATON / PLERWTEAI EPI TH EMFANISEI / ATHENESI TE 25 MAIOU 1927." Left medallion consists of portrait of Georgios Stavros r. with "100" written on top and below medallion on top of a geometric shape. Right medallion consists of print of reverse of ancient coin which portrays AMFI-KTIO-NWN (the W inverted), Apollo Pythios, wearing a laurel-wreath and a chiton, seated left on omphalos draped with a himation, resting his right elbow on a kithara and resting his head on his right hand, he has a long laurel-branch resting diagonally across him, a tripod on left. "100" written on top and bottom of medallion on top geometric shape. On upper l. and r. of field "ID'" for the Greek Iota and the Greek Delta. "O TAMIAS / B Saridakes? (Signed)," "O DIOIKETES / Alex. N Diomedes (Signed)," "O EPITROPOS" No signature for epitropos (commissioner), instead there is a stamp (with red ink) on top of the field, replacing it with "GEN. GRAMATEUS / (Signature)" Background consists of orange pattern that reads "TRAPEZA TES ELLADOS" and has a pink and green geometric design behind the middle medallion. Outside outer margin, below: "AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY"

Reverse Description

Reverse Description: Margin consists of leaf-and-dart pattern and Inner margin has an embellished pattern. In four corners have "100" inside four (angled) frames. Middle medallion consists of reproduction of ancient coin with the head of Demeter l., wearing wreath of grain-leaves and a veil. The medallion is flanked by "100" on l. and r. inside frame. Above medallion, "ETHNIKE TRAPEZA TES ELLADOS" and below medallion "APOLLWN," and inside frame read "EKDOSIS DEKATE TETARTE." Outside margin, bottom: "AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY"
