Obverse Description: Within a beaded circle, GEORGE WASHINGTON around bust of Washington in civilian dress facing right; BORN FEB. 11. 1732. DIED DC. 21. 1799 below. At the truncation of the arm is the signature WYON.

Reverse Description

Reverse Description: Within a beaded circle, three concentric lines: + GENL. OF THE AMERICAN ARMIES RESIGND. THE COMMD. 1783: / ELECD. PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES 1789 + / RESIGNED THE PRESIDENCY 1796 + surrounding small central display consisting of a crossed canon and fasces. Imposed upon crossed canon and fasces is the caduceus with a scroll that reads REPUB. AMERI.
