Danielle McLaughlin’s upcoming novel, Retrospective, features a number of miniatures in the story, including a sculptor’s maquettes and pieces of miniature silver. In this close-looking session, she talks with Keely Orgeman, the Alice and Allan Kaplan Associate Curator of American Paintings and Sculpture, about Memorial for Henry G. Staats (ca. 1802), part of the collection of American miniatures currently on view at the Gallery.
