Andrew Carnduff Ritchie Lecture, A Conversation with Mike Leigh

Director Mike Leigh discusses his most recent film, “Mr. Turner” (2014), an examination of the last 25 years of the life of the British painter Joseph Mallord William Turner. Leigh is joined by Jacqueline Riding, art historian and consultant on the film, in a conversation moderated by Tim Barringer, the Paul Mellon Professor, History of Art. Presented in conjunction with the exhibition “The Critique of Reason: Romantic Art, 1760-1860,” co-organized by the Yale University Art Gallery and the Yale Center for British Art, as part of the International Festival of Arts & Ideas.
