Join Judith E. Stein, independent curator and acclaimed author of Eye of the Sixties: Richard Bellamy and the Transformation of Modern Art (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2016), as she explores the mysterious, iconic, and idiosyncratic life of Green Gallery owner Dick Bellamy and the Manhattan art scene that he helped to create, in context with artworks in the Yale University Art Gallery’s collection. In a book that Barbara Rose of the New York Times enthusiastically called “an evocative portrait” (July 22, 2016), Stein has unearthed the fascinating biography of one of the greatest art-world figures of the 20th century, and in the process, she has also brought the mid-century art world and the galleries of New York City to life.
