The national anthem of the USSR is performed:\r\nat the opening and closing of festive gatherings and meetings, dedicated to national holidays celebrated in the USSR;\r\non programs broadcast by the Central television and Central radio broadcasting within the Union - on New Year's eve after the clock strikes on Spasskaya Tower in the Moscow Kremlin; on programs of Central television - at the beginning of the program on national holidays (February 23rd, March 8th, April 22nd, May 1st, May 9th, September 1st, October 7th, November 7th, and December 30th as well as January 1st); on programs of Central radio broadcasting within the Union - everyday at the beginning and before the end of the first all-union program; \r\nat the unveiling of monuments, obelisks and other facilities to mark the most significant historical events in the life of Soviet society and of the Soviet state, in honor of outstanding Soviet political, state and military figures, national heroes, scientists, writers, and artists; \r\nat the delivery of [every different state level from regional to municipal etc.] of state awards of the USSR;\r\nat the raising of the state flag of the USSR at ceremonies and other festive occasions conducted by state and public organs, enterprises, institutions and organizaitons;\r\nat meetings and visits between the Soviet Union and officials, heads of state and of government of foreign countries - after the performance of the national anthem, the corresponding national anthem of the foreign country is performed too. \r\nThe legislation of the USSR also provides for different occasions for the required performance of the national anthem of the USSR. \r\nIt clearly defines the circumstances whereby the hymn must be performed. For example, at all events which occur in republics of the Union, the national anthem of the USSR is heard before the national anthem of that specific republic. \r\nThe national anthem of the USSR may be performed by an orchestra, a chorus, an orchestra with a chorus, or in a difference vocal or instrumental performance. \r\nIt is permitted to use some means of recording for the reproduction of the words and melody of the national anthem. \r\nIf the anthem is sung by a chorus or with musical accompaniment, then it is performed in its entirety, and if it is performed instrumentally then a partial performance is allowed - a verse and a refrain are played once. \r\n\r\nLL: 10
