Reverse Description: COMMISSION RESIGNED PRESIDENCY RELINQUISHED around, 1797 below exergual line. A pedestal bearing the shield of the United States on one end; over it is thrown a fringed cloth, on which are deposited a bundle of fasces and a sword encircled by an olive wreath.
