Obverse Description

Obverse Description: Conjoined laureate and draped busts of four allied sovereigns: Prince Regent George, Francis II of Austria, Alexander I of Russia, Frederick William III of Prussia. Around, allegorical and mythological allusions to the peace following the Battle of Waterloo. Above, Apollo drives quadriga l. approaching the constellation of Gemini; he is followed by Zephyr and Iris. To l., figure of Themis; to r., Hercules seated r. on a rock suppressing the Furies who cannot leave the Cimmerian caverns. Below the figure of Themis, the Fates; at bottom, Night drives a biga r. into the darkness.

Reverse Description

Reverse Description: Two equestrian figures with the features of Wellington and Blucher being led into the conflict by Victory. Around, the battle of the Giants, Jupiter riding foward above in facing biga holding thunderbolt in r. and sceptre in l.
