Furniture from the mid-nineteenth century often incorporates artistic styles from many sources. Taking its inspiration from architecture, the arched scallop skirt of this table is accented by open quatrefoils. This Gothic Revival detail is fancifully intermixed with a scrolled base in the Neoclassical style.
