Henry Hammond Taylor acquired this mirror in Portland, Maine, "where it had been in a private family as long as anyone could remember" (card files, FPG-Y). Taylor sold the mirror to Garvan on September 16, 1929. Gift in 1946 to Yale University Art Gallery, New Haven, Conn.
