Provenance

Provenance

Galleria W. Apolloni, Rome; William H. Schab Gallery, New York; Sabatino Abate, Jr., Boston; Christie's, New York, 19 April 1988, lot 43; acquired from Hill-Stone, Inc., New York

[This drawing and Cambridge, Fogg Art Museum, 1987.3 were both with Apolloni in Rome and later with Sabatino Abate in Boston. Although the curatorial files on the Yale drawing have no record of the drawing's having been with William Schab, the two drawings presumably moved together until one of Sabatino Abate's drawings went to the Fogg and the other, in the following months, appeared at auction.]
