Note 1: A sociologist, anthropologist, and international authority in the field of African textiles and the sociocultural aspects of dress, Dr. Joanne Eicher spent time in Nigeria conducting field-work; although some textiles from her collection were acquired through field-work, the circumstances of acquisition for Adire Eleko Textile are unknown.
