The Dnieprostroi is the construction of a powerful hydroelectric power station on the Dnieper. This station will be the largest not only of the USSR, but also of the entire world. \r\n\r\nThe main goal of the Dnieprostroi is to create an electric heart in the Ukraine. From there, like blood through veins, electric current will flow through wires and a whole array of old and new factories will be put to work for the benefit of the workers of the Soviet Union in the region of Dniepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye. The path of the free waters of the Dnieper will be blocked, they will be gathered in the height of a multiple-storey skyscraper and thrown in a turbine, which will produce the cheapest electricity in the USSR.\r\n\r\nAnd this will allow factories that produce ferromanganese, electric steel, aluminum, tractors, agricultural machines, etc. to release cheaper products, and it will provide cheap electric light for villages and cities within hundreds of kilometers. The second goal of the Dnieprostroi is to make the Dnieper navigable for its entire length. This will turn the Dnieprostroi into a cheap cargo waterway where all the achievements of the latest technology of the world are put to use. This will be the greatest school for our workers, technicians, railway engineers, chemists, economic managers, students and organizers. On December 1st, 1932, the electric heart of the Ukraine should begin its work. \r\n\r\nLR: after the original by the artist P. I. Kotov\r\nLC: Artistic Publisher, Moscow
