Obverse Description

Obverse Description: Vertical Comosition. In top corners lie "5" in medallions. Large plaque with floral border lies in center. At the top of border lies Coat of Arms of the Russian Empire, consisting of double-headed eagle sceptre, globus cruciger and crown, in medallion. In main body of plaque lies text, "GOSUDARSTVENNYY / KREDITNYY BILET / PYAT' RUBLEY:; Below this in small text, "GOSUDARSVENNYY BANK RAZMENIVAET KREDITNYE BILETY NA ZOLOTUYU MONETU BEZ OGRANICHENIYA SUMMY (1 RUBL' = 1/15 IMPERIALA, SODERZHIT 17, 424 DOLEY CHISTAVO ZOLOTA"; Below this text, "UPRAVLYAYUSHCHIY" and "KASSIR" with signatures; At the bottom of border lies "5" in medallion. Large "5" lies in the beige background of plaque. Small "5"s lie in the blue background outside of plaque.

Reverse Description

Reverse Description: In top corners of note lie "5" in medallions. Decorative display lies in central of note; At the top of the display lies crown, and fur drape comes out of crown and encloses a Coat of Arms of the Russian Empire. Beneath this lies lions head before globus cruciger with swords and vegetal decorations on the sides. Below this lies plaque with text, "1. RAZMEN GOSUDARSTVENNYH KREDITNYH BILETOV NA ZOLOTUYU MONETU OBEZPECHIVAETSYA VSEM DOSTOYANIEM GOSUDARSTVA. 2. GOSUDARSTVENNYE KREDITNYE BILETY IMEYUT HOZHDENIE VO VSEY IMPERII NARAVNE S ZOLOTOYU MONETOYU. 3. ZA PODDELKU KREDITNYH BILETOV VINOVNYE PODVERGAYUTSYA LISHENIYU VSEH PRAV SOSTOYANIYA I SSYLKE V KATORZHNUYU RABOTU". At bottom fo central display lies, "PYAT' RUBLEY" and "5" in medallions to the l. and r.. Small "5"s and "RUB" lie in background along edges.
