Obverse Description

Obverse Description: Above the main section of the note, AUSTRALIAN NOTE is printed. In each corner, 1/2 is printed. In the top centre of the note, COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA is printed above the serial numbers. Against an orange background, LEGAL TENDER/TEN SHILLINGS/IN THE COMMONWEALTH AND IN/ALL TERRITORIES UNDER THE/CONTROL OF THE COMMONWEALTH is printed above the signatures. On the left side of the note, there is the Australian coat of arms, featuring the kangaroo and the emu. There are also wattle flowers. On the right side of the note, thee is a bust l. of Matthew Flinders. In the bottom centre of the note, TEN SHILLINGS is printed.

Reverse Description

Reverse Description: 1/2 is printed in each corner of the note. The top centre of the note reads COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA/TEN SHILLINGS and the bottom centre reads HALF/10//HALF. The middle of the note shows Old Parliament House.
