Obverse Description: PRESIDENCY OF ULYSSES S. GRANT **** 1873 **** around outer edge; BOSTON NUMISMATIC SOCIETY INCORPORATED 1870 within a second concentric. Innermost circle contains a tree on a hill below, two circular masses in the center (leftmost contains NE, the right contains III), INSTITUTED 1860 above.

Reverse Description: TWIN DELIVERS IN THE GARDEN OF HISTORY (ISAAC F. WOODS MEMORIAL SERIES) along outer edge; N.E. HISTORIC GENEALOGICAL * SOCIETY * around second concentric circle. The innermost circle contains a crest with clouds behind, hand of God descending from above; IN MEMORIAM MAJORUM around crest.
