Obverse Description: Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Severus Alexander left seen from the front. He wears a Medusa head at the center of his chest. Both his elbows must be bent to show his hands. He holds in his right hand a small Victory who holds a transverse signum toward his face. His left hand rests on a parazonium with an eagle head handle at the left end. IMP ALEXAN - DER PIVS AVG

Reverse Description: Emperor standing right, laureate, in military dress holding a transverse spear in his left hand and extending his right hand to receive a small Victory holding a wreath. Spes walks left holding the Victory in her extended right hand while lifting her gown with her left hand. In the background two figures stand on each side of the emperor; the shorter one on the right (lictor?) holds a baton downward. In the background, an unseen person holds a vertical spear.
