The attribution to Melchior d’Hondecoeter was suggested shortly thereafter by Frederick Meijer of the Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie, The Hague (the Netherlands Institute for Art History) (RKD image no. 0000130615; RKD corr. 05-460)
