Singers from the Yale Glee Club perform meditative music in the staircase of the Louis Kahn building, the acoustics of which rivals many concert halls. The repertoire for the musical program is drawn from various spiritual and folk traditions—ranging from South African and Russian to Scottish and American—and the music styles include late Renaissance (Tomás Luis de Victoria), Romantic (Sergei Rachmaninoff), and contemporary (Shawn Kirchner). Currently in its 157th season, the Yale Glee Club is Yale’s principal undergraduate mixed choir and the University’s oldest musical organization.
