Join us at the Leslie P. and George H. Hume American Furniture Study Center at the Collection Studies Center, Yale West Campus, for a live demonstration by Peter Galbert exploring the fundamentals of Windsor chair making. Galbert is an accomplished chair maker, teacher, and writer, as well as the founder of the Galbert School of Craft in Rollinsford, New Hampshire. The anatomy of and craft techniques behind this traditional 18th-century furniture form will be explored, along with close looking at period examples from the Yale University Art Gallery’s collection. Generously sponsored by the Martin A. Ryerson Lectureship Fund.
