International Festival of Arts & Ideas

The International Festival of Arts & Ideas is a 15-day festival of performing arts and lectures that celebrates the greatest artists and thinkers from around the world. Each year more than 80 percent of festival programs are completely free to the public, including events at the Gallery.

Artspace is New Haven’s largest independent contemporary arts venue, presenting a rotating array of group and solo exhibitions in all media. It has a threefold mission: to catalyze artistic activities; to connect contemporary artists, audiences, and resources; and to enrich art experiences and activate art spaces. Artspace is located at 50 Orange Street in the Chamberlain Building, a 5,000-square-foot storefront in what was once a Civil War–era furniture factory. The Lot, Artspace’s outdoor exhibition space, is located at 812 Chapel Street and open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
