Yale University Art Gallery Bulletin 2010

2011 First Place, Scholarly Journals, Museum Publications Design Competition, American Association of Museums

An annual compilation of themed essays, exhibition highlights, and Gallery news, the Yale University Art Gallery Bulletin publishes original scholarship on works in the Gallery’s collection. The 2010 Bulletin celebrates the success of the Gallery’s summer 2009 exhibition Time Will Tell: Ethics and Choices in Conservation, elaborating on the conservation projects and issues that were presented in the show. In-depth essays by the three exhibition curators are followed by a re-presentation of the exhibition’s well-received didactic panels, each on a different object- or media-based conservation issue. Editor’s Note: Since the late 1940s, almost every issue of the Bulletin has regularly included a full list of acquisitions made since the previous issue. Beginning with this edition, the Gallery is publishing these lists online. View this year’s acquisitions here.
