Programs Advisory Committee
About the Program
The Programs Advisory Committee is an opportunity for students to inform the content and focus of Gallery programs. Selected students meet as a group on a weekly basis and regularly attend Gallery, University, and community programs. Considering accessibility and relevance, the committee helps develop and implement, as well as document and communicate, Gallery programs. As ambassadors for the museum across the campus and the community, the committee works together to define and build audiences, engage the collection in thoughtful ways, and connect to the broader intellectual resources of the University and community.
Applicants must have a strong interest in art, museums, audience, and engagement. Participants in the committee must attend regularly scheduled meetings on Fridays from 11:00 am–12:00 pm, as well as some Gallery programs (Wednesdays at 12:30 pm, Thursdays at 5:30 pm, Fridays at 1:30 pm, and occasional weekends), University programs, and community programs. The committee also takes occasional field trips to area art institutions.
Applications for the Programs Advisory Committee are accepted on a rolling basis. Applications should include the following:

Your completed application (not to exceed two pages, single-spaced) should respond to the following questions:
- Why are you interested in joining the Gallery’s Programs Advisory Committee?
- What could you bring to the committee?
- Describe a memorable museum program you attended.
- What do you enjoy most about the Gallery? What might you change?
- What is your favorite thing about New Haven? Least favorite?
- Do you have any skills in photography, videography, or social media?
