The Yale University Art Gallery is pleased to participate in the Yale “Open Access” policy announced on May 10, 2011. In support of the Yale policy, the Gallery hopes that students, scholars, artists, and anyone interested in the collection will freely use our resources for presentations and publications as well as for personal enjoyment. Free digital images are available upon request and provided via electronic file transfer.

The preservation, transmission, and advancement of knowledge in the digital age are promoted by the creative use and reuse of digitized content for research, teaching, learning, and creative activities. The goal of digitization is to enhance access to the collections in Yale University museums, archives, and libraries for students, faculty, and the world. It is the University’s goal to make digital copies of unrestricted cultural-heritage collections available for use without limitations. The University will not restrict use of items digitized from its museums, libraries, and archives collections, which have been made openly available through the University’s electronic interfaces, and which are no longer under copyright, except where other rights or restrictions apply.

All requests for photography must be submitted using the form below.
