The Gallery is currently researching and developing materials for K-12 teachers to use in teaching from the collection. We welcome any ideas or suggestions from teachers about what sorts of materials would be most helpful. Please contact Jessica Sack at 203.432.3706 or jessica.sack@yale.edu.

For more information about booking a school visit, please see Visiting the Gallery: Group/School Tours.

The activities listed below are downloadable PDFs designed for use in the classroom or in the Gallery—or in any museum. They encourage students to look closely at works of art and to articulate their observations in a variety of ways. Activities address Connecticut State learning standards in the visual arts, performing arts, social studies, and language arts.

The images included in each PDF may be printed out onto copy paper or transparency paper to facilitate learning in the classroom (please note: the images are provided for educational purposes only). For further information about the featured artworks, please look in the collection section of this Web site. Teachers may also wish to use additional images that fit the goals of the activity.
