Malbin Archive
Lydia Winston Malbin (1897–1989), a pioneer collector of Italian Futurism in America, formed an exhaustive archive documenting her collecting activities. The Malbin Archive, generously donated by her children to the Yale University Art Gallery, documents the history of Malbin’s collection, including exhibition and publication records, bibliographic information, and artists’ letters regarding those works. Particularly rich is Malbin’s correspondence with major figures of the period, including Alfred Barr, Rose Fried, Peggy Guggenheim, and Alfred Stieglitz. |
