Note 1: Millicent Bingham presented her parent's papers to Yale University Library and bequeathed the contents of her house to the Art Gallery. "Miss E M Goodwin / Care of / W.A. Merill [Morill?] / N[. . .H]aven / Conn." is written in ink on a piece of paper pasted on the top piece of the backboard. "FOSTER BROS., / Pictures & Frames, / 4 Park Square, / BOSTON." is printed on a paper label glued to the top frame member, and "163" is written in pencil on the same label. "163 Regild water gold slightly Ant" is written in pencil on the top frame member. "163" is also written on the back of the reverse-painted panel and the bottom backboard. "HTG / CO [encircled, within a square]" is stamped on the back of the glass. "34" is written in ink on the divider and the top, side, and bottom frame members. "34 x 19" is written in ink on the top and left side members, and "3672" is written on the right side member. "670" is written in crayon and pencil on the bottom piece of the backboard.
