Inscriptions

There are four circular printed labels pasted to the object, each with an open space in the middle containing an ink notation, and printed with "W. & J. Sloane / FLOOR / COVERINGS / FURNITURE / Fifth Avenue & 47th St. / New York." Two of these labels are pasted to the outside of the back on the left side; the upper one has "M 249/S" and the lower one "M 245/ W. SR." A label pasted to the outside of the back on the right side is annotated "M 249/S." There is a fragment of the label pasted to the secretary drawer. Written in pencil on the top of the top of the lower case and on the outside of the back of the upper case in the center is "33-770"; "33" is written on the upper right corner of the outside of the back of the upper case.
