On May 17, the 60th anniversary of the Prayer Pilgrimage for Freedom, La Tanya S. Autry, the Marcia Brady Tucker Senior Fellow, Department of Photography, leads a walking tour of sites in New Haven that tell the story of the African American liberation movement. The journey recognizes the city’s history and its enduring practice of political action, and it spotlights how activists have countered racial oppression by claiming public spaces in New Haven. Space is limited. Please meet at the Gallery entrance. Weather permitting.
