Symposium, Arresting Patterns: Perspectives on Race, Criminal Justice, Artistic Expression, and Community

This two-day interdisciplinary conference brings together artists, scholars, and activists to address the issues surrounding art and criminal justice policy in the state of Connecticut. The conference is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Arresting Patterns: Race and the Criminal Justice System at Artspace, a nonprofit arts organization in New Haven. The exhibition, on view through September 13, is inspired by The Jerome Project (2014), the most recent project by Titus Kaphar, M.F.A. 2006, and features works by Kaphar and participants in Artspace’s Annual Summer Teen Apprenticeship Program. Cosponsored by Artspace and presented in collaboration with Titus Kaphar. For more information, visit artspacenh.org.
