Lecture, Closing Keynote, Observations from the Field: Exhibiting and Collecting Ceramic Sculpture

The symposium “Ceramic Presence: Conversations on Making, Looking, and the Museum” closes with a conversation between Linda Schlenger, the art collector whose works are on view in the exhibition The Ceramic Presence in Modern Art: Selections from the Linda Leonard Schlenger Collection and the Yale University Art Gallery, and Irving Blum, art dealer and former owner of Ferus Gallery in Los Angeles. In this discussion with exhibition curators Jock Reynolds, the Henry J. Heinz II Director, and Sequoia Miller, Ph.D. candidate in the Department of the History of Art, and Graduate Research Assistant, Department of American Decorative Arts, Schlenger and Blum reflect on their wide-ranging experiences exhibiting, promoting, and collecting ceramics.
