Gallery Talk, Windham-Campbell Prizewinner Erna Brodber on African Fractal Designs

2017 Windham-Campbell Fiction Prize recipient Erna Brodber looks at African textiles from the Gallery’s collection and discusses the use of fractals in her most recent novel, Nothing’s Mat (2014). Moderated by Caroline Kanner, JE ’18. Presented in conjunction with the Windham-Campbell Prizewinners Festival. Space is limited. Please meet in the Gallery lobby.

Over the course of a career spanning four decades, activist, scholar, and writer Erna Brodber has established herself as a major voice in Caribbean literature. Brodber is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Prince Claus Award (2006), the Musgrave Medal (1999), and the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize (1989). Brodber holds an Honorary D.Litt. from the University of the West Indies at Mona, Jamaica (2011).
