Beaker with Mythological Figures, Roman, Eastern Mediterranean, ca. 1st century A.D. Mold-blown glass. Yale University Art Gallery, Hobart and Edward Small Moore Memorial Collection, Bequest of Mrs. William H. Moore

Join Susan B. Matheson, the Molly and Walter Bareiss Curator of Ancient Art, for a discussion in conjunction with the exhibition “Drink That You May Live”: Ancient Glass from the Yale University Art Gallery. Learn about ancient glass vessels that depict a range of religious figures and symbols, including Dionysos, a menorah, and an ascetic Christian saint, and what these objects reveal about pagan, Jewish, and Christian communities in the Mediterranean world during the Graeco-Roman era.

Space is limited. Please meet in the Gallery lobby.
