Nick Benson, a stone carver, calligrapher, and designer and the 2013 Doran Artist in Residence, discusses typographic archetypes in stone, text as texture, and the inspiration he found in the collections. His work can be seen on memorials and buildings through out the country, including the National Gallery of Art, National World War II Memorial, and the new Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, National Memorial.
