Academic Events and Symposia

Symposia, conferences, and study days provide opportunities for in-depth exploration of topics and ideas related to the Gallery’s collection and special exhibitions.

The Gallery organizes symposia, study days, and other events to stimulate in-depth discussions of topics related to our collections and special exhibitions, as well as to art-historical and museum practice in general. Symposia provide a public forum for discussions among scholars, curators, artists, and other specialists. The Gallery organizes one or two symposia per year. Study days and scholars’ days are small, focused gatherings of scholars and graduate students working on a particular topic. Participation is generally by invitation only, although a public keynote lecture is often a part of the study-day agenda.
